ABOUT THE GOAT Gallery

About the Gallery

The Goat Gallery has been a part of the vibrant arts scene in the small town of Natimuk in Western Victoria, since 2006.

The new owner, Jacquie Tinkler, acquired the gallery in late 2023 and is now in the process of renewing the gallery to focus on providing an accessible space for local and travelling artists to exhibit, experiment, and develop their art practices and share their work with our community.

About Jacquie

Jacquie has been an artist since her horrified mother had to get her long blonde hair cut because she got oil paint in it when she was 9 years old. She went on to become an Art Teacher, who was always hanging around galleries either with students, or getting ideas for her students. Since then she has become an academic working with educational technology in a university setting, but still tells her students to “look at what artists are doing with technology if you want to know how to think about technology”. As an artist, she works with drawing, ceramics, textiles, and photography. She also keeps a keen eye on digital technology in the arts, particularly in the ‘age of AI’.

Passionate about the arts and making art relevant, engaging, and accessible for all, she plans to make the Goat Gallery the best gallery in rural Australia, and a place where artists and audiences can enjoy playing with art and ideas.
